Ecclesial Communities also know as Small Christian Communities (SCC)

Father Francis describes the purpose and goals of an ecclesial community.

The Home Visitation Pastoral Committee have worked with Father Mike and Father Francis to establish Ecclesial Communities, also referred to as Small Christian Communities (SCC).

Small Christian Communities will be used in Holy Cross Parish

  • to love and witness our Catholic faith

  • to build capacity of the parishioners to respond to challenges in our faith and communities

  • to enable us to strive to make visible or tangible God's love as we share it

  • be places of

    • FAITH

    • PRAYER

    • LOVING CONCERN for one another

Call the church office at 985-384-3551 to set up a home pastoral visit. Home pastoral visits will include a blessing of the home and prayer intentions. Additionally, you may make requests such as Communion, Confession, Anointing of the Sick, Mass, Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, and Bible Sharing during the weekday visit.

We invite you to join an Ecclesial Community, which we call a Small Christian Community (SCC). Social groups whose members can experience real interpersonal relationships and feel a sense of communal belonging are true to the model of the church as a family. At Holy Cross, we would like to use SCC to share the Word of God and learn more about and celebrate the Holy Sacraments.
