Tithing

Tithing is a tradition of the Church by which both service to the community—especially the poor—is accomplished, and beautification of the church for the greater glory of God is funded. To “tithe,” by definition, means to give 10% of one’s income. While this is not law within the Church coercing the people to this, it is a very noble action, one which helps the Christian not only to support the Church and the poor, but also to distance himself or herself from the draw of the material world.
