Order of Christian Initiation of Adults

OCIA (formally known as RCIA) is catechesis designed for those who are new to our Catholic faith or who have not completed their Sacraments of Initiation who are usually over the age of 18. RCIA concentrates on bringing these men and women into a fuller understanding of the faith, meeting regularly in order to catechize them as fully as possible on the richness and beauty of our Catholic beliefs, and of God’s love for each of them.

Catechumens seeking to enter the Church will receive the three Sacraments of Initiation—Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation—together at the Easter Vigil (unless otherwise dictated).

Candidates (those who have already been baptized) seeking full communion with the Church will receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation at a time discerned based upon individual circumstances.

If you are interested in becoming a Catholic or learning more about Catholicism, please contact the Church office.
