Our school has had roots in the Morgan City community since September 4, 1893 when the first Catholic school was established by five Marianite sisters from New Orleans, with the aid of devoted area citizens. By 1957, the school re-located to the present physical plant which now houses Holy Cross Elementary and Central Catholic High School. In 1964 a new Church parish named Holy Cross was created in Morgan City and the elementary school was renamed Holy Cross School. www.holycrosselementary.com
Holy Cross provides optional day care for registered students, Pre-K3 - Grade 6, from dismissal until 5:30-m each school day. Fees are the sole support for the program. It is not subsidized by the school or parish.
Central Catholic High School, founded by the Marianite Sisters of the Holy Cross, is a Catholic secondary school, grades 7-12, owned and operated by the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux. Central Catholic High School exists to serve primarily the Catholic population of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, the Catholic families in East St. Mary Parish and in neighboring communities, and others who embrace Christian values and respect our Catholic beliefs. We provide a caring environment in which students are affirmed and encouraged to develop their God-given gifts. http://www.cchseagles.com
