Operation Lent 2009

Every year during the season of Lent we as a parish Family are encouraged to focus on the church at large and not only in our own community.  In past years we have helped many individuals and families. This year Holy Cross Parish will adopt Chez Hope. Chez Hope is a non-profit organization, was established in 1982 to serve victims of domestic violence in the southern region parishes of Louisiana.  They serve St. Mary, Lafourche and Assumption Parishes.

Thank you very much for your Lenten Collection of items and generous donation of $1500.00 to Chez Hope.  It is greatly appreciated. So many gifts that can be used for a long time.  It was wonderful to meet and chat with those who helped load our vehicles. We wish you a peace-filled life and may God bless everyone at Holy Cross Parish.  Many thanks, Chez Hope.

Many rich cultures come together in Morgan City; (1) the Cajun Culture of South Louisiana; (2) the Italian Culture and; (3) the cosmopolitan atmosphere provided by the many oil related workers who have made Morgan City their home. The gifts of these cultures are celebrated and shared in the community of Holy Cross. Founded during Vatican II, the leadership has tried to form the parish into "the people made one with the unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy "Spirit." Holy Cross exists for one reason: To continue the mission of Jesus to bring all to the knowledge of and union with His Father.
