Text Box: Gracious Father, shock and sorrow is dominating our lives because of the oil spill in the Gulf. Be our hope among us. Help us as we ponder the loss of lives and property as a result of this disaster. Bring comfort to those whose lives have altered so much in the last weeks and who suffer greatly. Mercifully embrace those who are frightened. Look with love and compassion on those who mourn. Restrain those who seek to instigate such destruction. And give strength to all who offer care, support and rescue efforts during this time. Help us and all others be your healing hands and comforting arms during this time. So that all in need may experience your compassion, grace and mercy. We ask this always through Jesus Christ Our Lord.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Prayer for the Hurricane Season

“Lord, through the intercession of Our Lady and all the Saints from our Diocese, protect the lives and property of your people in this land of the bayous from the devastation of any hurricanes and every major storm during this hurricane season.  We pray to the Lord.”

Many rich cultures come together in Morgan City; (1) the Cajun Culture of South Louisiana; (2) the Italian Culture and; (3) the cosmopolitan atmosphere provided by the many oil related workers who have made Morgan City their home. The gifts of these cultures are celebrated and shared in the community of Holy Cross. Founded during Vatican II, the leadership has tried to form the parish into "the people made one with the unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy "Spirit." Holy Cross exists for one reason: To continue the mission of Jesus to bring all to the knowledge of and union with His Father.
